Love it! Is it a shop selling lederhosen or just some sort of random thing.

Reply

bavaria April 1, 2012 at 6:14 am

It’s a shop selling lederhosen, and the most beautiful dirndl’s… :)

Multiple Mummy April 1, 2012 at 6:14 am

A boxer shorts shop? Cure sign!

Reply

bavaria April 1, 2012 at 6:15 am

I imagine you might find them in there as well, but it mostly sells traditional dress for the area… :)

Bibsey Mama April 1, 2012 at 6:57 am

new lederhosen?

Reply

bavaria April 1, 2012 at 7:42 pm

Indeed! Not yet, just liked the sign (in Salzburg)… I need to actually get some for the boy soon though. Husband is not allowed them, although I think he would quite like some :D…

Reply

h0pefulmummy April 1, 2012 at 8:12 am

fab photo!
and please, what’s a dirndl?

Reply

bavaria April 1, 2012 at 7:43 pm

A dirndl is the traditional dress for the women of Bavaria, and for those trying to blend in at certain events… I might post a pic of mine soon enough, but perhaps not with me in it!! (:

Mammasaurus April 1, 2012 at 8:12 am

How unusual. Is it a shop sign. Is looks like something out of an RPG.

Reply

bavaria April 1, 2012 at 7:47 pm

I dread to think what kind! :D It is indeed a shop sign (:

Reply

Jacq April 1, 2012 at 5:04 pm

Cool. Reminds me of Bierfest- what I can remember of it anyhow.

Reply

bavaria April 1, 2012 at 7:47 pm

Thank you! You didn’t experience the real thing if you can remember anything!! (:

Reply

Mrs TeePot April 1, 2012 at 5:31 pm

Oh wow! What is it? A shop sign? Or is it really pants?

Reply

bavaria April 1, 2012 at 7:48 pm

A shop sign – for leather pants… well, trousers kind of anyway! :)

Reply

Ruth @ Minibreak Mummy April 1, 2012 at 5:54 pm

What a distinctive shop sign! My mother-in-law tried to pass some toddler lederhosen onto us but I thought it was a bit impractical. I’d love a fabulous dirndl skirt though :-)

Reply

bavaria April 1, 2012 at 7:48 pm

Hmmm… The very fact that you can’t wash them does make them slightly impractical toddler wear, might have been good to take a pic for future blackmail purposes though! Thanks Ruth! :)

Reply

bavaria April 2, 2012 at 7:16 am

Do you know, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was one here somewhere though (:

Reply

Cat (Yellow Days) April 1, 2012 at 9:44 pm

It always made me laugh that people assume lederhosen are historical costumes when you actually see them in the street every day of the week in the south. I’m feeling all nostalgic now so thanks for the memories.

Reply

bavaria April 2, 2012 at 7:19 am

There were lots of people out and about in traditional dress for starkbier season recently… :)

Reply
