Thank you, they do don’t they? I am just glad we spotted them before we fell over them! :)

Wow – you could easily miss them couldn’t you? Often wonder where deer hide away during the day.

Reply

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 6:56 am

Yep, they are quite well hidden… Soon stood up when we went past with a pony though :)

Mouse July 22, 2012 at 8:10 am

That’s amazing! I didn’t twig they were stags at first (they are, right?) but was admiring some tasteful and inventive public art!

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 8:14 am

They are indeed! We walked around the corner, and there they all were… There are plenty of them free rein in this particular park (Bushy Park in Teddington), or in Richmond Park! They usually ignore you unless you have a dog bothering them! :D

Oh my goodness your so lucky to have seen them and even better to have got that shot on camera what a great photo

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 8:26 am

Thanks Helen…It brought back lots of lovely memories as we used to live around the corner from this park, and would visit it daily :) x

They’re stags? I don’t think I’ve even seen a whole pack of them. Where did you see these?

Reply

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 10:27 am

They live in Bushy Park in Teddington, South West London… You don’t have to look very hard for them when you’re there either :)

sarahmumof3 July 22, 2012 at 8:54 am

perfect shot, they really are rather well hidden aren’t they!

Reply

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 10:28 am

Thanks Becky… I thought it was more effective than the one where they are all standing up! :)

Isn’t it wonderful when you come across wild animals like that? Fantastic shot!

Reply

It’s just so nice that they are free to wander about! Thank you :)

Lovely picture. I wasn’t sure what it was at first glance x

Reply

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 11:32 am

Neither was I when I first saw them, I thought it was a load of dead trees. I haven’t ever seen that many lying down in a group! :) x

Rollercoaster Mum July 22, 2012 at 11:12 am

Lovely shot – was just about to say it looked like Richmond Park when I read some of the other comments and realised it was close by -guess you are not in Bavaria right now then?!

they look like pieces of art left in a field, they look great just poking above the long grass. great shot

Reply

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 6:26 pm

They do don’t they. I actually thought they were a load of dead branches at first. Luckily, I managed a trip to the opticians when I was back…

Reply

Midlife Singlemum July 22, 2012 at 12:36 pm

I hope they don’t think they’re hiding ;).

Reply

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 6:24 pm

Thank you! They have been there for almost 600 years. It’s just strange to see them in such a suburban environment! :)

Reply

Jenny @justphotosbyme July 22, 2012 at 6:32 pm

awesome photo – it is a strange environment to see them in but we’re so fortunate to be able to do so! We have small muntjack deer living on the railway line (not very bright ones I imagine!) in the middle of our city – I’m always pleased to see them!

Reply

bavaria July 22, 2012 at 7:08 pm

Thank you! Used to love taking guests there, they were usually really surprised to see them! Your little deer sound incredibly brave! We had daily deer visitors to our garden when we lived in Denmark, I was so upset when the Spring came and they disappeared! :(
