A past week full of changes. \u00a0 Some obvious, some less so, and a few more that will be spoken about in good time…<\/p>\n

A week full of head colds, sleepiness and no work for me. \u00a0 But on the positive side, a week full of the possible arrival of Spring, the arrival of my Mum who kept on top of everything and looked after us all, and a birthday for the Small Boy who turned a very big 8.<\/p>\n

We celebrated at an Indian restaurant at his request, and finished with the most amazing cake made by a friend of mine. \u00a0 We almost had an issue when he didn’t want it to be cut, but I could completely understand that can’t you (do feel free to message me if you are in the Munich area and would like a similar cake, word has it this lady undertakes commissions from time to time!)?<\/p>\n

Some of the changes are quite hard to accept, like the fact that my baby definitely isn’t a baby anymore… I feel like I blinked and he went from this to this almost overnight…<\/p>\n

Growing up has some advantages though, he makes us laugh every day with his infectious sense of humour, and his determination to hang onto his English roots, despite having only tasted his first Creme egg this week (he points out that it’s because I have usually eaten them before he has had a chance – a fact, ladies and gentlemen that might actually be true!).<\/p>\n

Despite supporting a rather famous Bavarian Football team (much to the disappointment of his father), his sport craziness reaches far beyond that of the traditional beautiful German game. \u00a0He also loves playing Rugby which his Twickenham Grandad is very happy about, and he did try to join a cricket team, but with just him and his Indian friend applying, it would have made for a supremely long game. \u00a0 \u00a0He’s going to catch up on cricket somewhere else he says, and I believe him – determination really should have been his middle name! \u00a0If he happens to be reading this whilst he’s supposed to be doing his maths homework, we\u00a0love you so much sweetie, and we can’t wait to see what 8 brings for you.<\/p>\n

There have been some changes this past week I do really approve of however, like the beginnings of a new season – Spring is beginning to show her face after a long grey (and white) Winter, and she is very welcome…<\/p>\n
