\"Hotel<\/a>“That building looks like something out of Star Wars” said the Five Year old, as we missed the exit for the second time on the final leg of our journey back to Munich… When we eventually got there, “that building” turned out to be our hotel – the Radisson Blu Frankfurt<\/a>, which is pretty futuristic in more ways than one.\u00a0\u00a0 It managed to keep with the intergalactic feel on the inside too, with an impressively futuristic concrete lobby – I think Small boy was quite disappointed we weren’t greeted by aliens. \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 We had managed to put a few air miles to good use by booking two interconnecting rooms, a first as the Small People have been far too small for this option before… \u00a0 It made a pleasant change from having to listen to “he’s kicking me”,\u00a0 “she’s on my side of the bed” when we have all been crammed in together before, and they have been forced to share!\u00a0 I really liked this place, it went far beyond my expectations of a business hotel, with nice little touches such as a pillow menu, and enlightened buddhist bedside reading material, as well as the usual.<\/p>\n

I really liked Frankfurt too, it helped with my “cross mood<\/a>” no end, and reminded me of London in lots of ways, from the varied mix of people, to the tall sky scrapers in the Financial district.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There’s a huge range of eating options too, and we ended up constructing a huge skyscraper of our own out of colourful plates in a tiny Japanese restaurant (might as well get them used to the food, we are going to Japan for a couple of weeks in June), before sampling the delights of a Gelateria for pudding.<\/p>\n

We ended our brief trip, with a brief walk around the old town, and admired the Dom<\/a> from afar, but as it was dark we will need to come back to explore properly.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 First impressions count though, and they were definitely good.<\/p>\n

And before we completed our journey early the next day, (having annoyed a whole lift full of grumpy Emirates hostesses in an attempt to make our way down to the car park – the lift doors had a mind of their own, honest!), we then spent the next twenty minutes picking up the contents of a box of Ewok Attack Star Wars Lego from the car park floor, having knocked it flying from the boot with a suitcase. \u00a0 The force definitely wasn’t with us that morning I can tell you…<\/p>\n
