{"id":7045,"date":"2013-11-25T20:13:22","date_gmt":"2013-11-25T20:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thesojournseries.com\/bavaria\/?p=7045"},"modified":"2013-11-27T14:27:39","modified_gmt":"2013-11-27T14:27:39","slug":"tis-the-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thesojournseries.com\/bavaria\/tis-the-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Tis the Season&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is not your average <span class=\"st\">gl\u00fchwein<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This is <span class=\"st\">gl\u00fchwein<\/span> with a special little added extra, otherwise known as a Feuerzangenbowle (which I believe roughly translates as fire tong punch), and here&#8217;s how they do it&#8230;\u00a0 Take one steaming mug of authentic Bavarian Christmas Market\u00a0 <span class=\"st\">gl\u00fchwein<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0 Top it with a specially twisted metal frame, and balance upon it a couple of\u00a0 sugar cubes soaked in finest rum. \u00a0 Place the frame and the cubes on top of the authentic Christmas Market <span class=\"st\">gl\u00fchwein, set on fire, and allow the molten liquid to drip through in to the jewel coloured nectar below.\u00a0 \u00a0 Take a big sip, and smile in the knowledge that<\/span> the Christmas Market Season in Munich <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesojournseries.com\/bavaria\/seasonal-shopping-munichs-christmas-markets\/\">officially commences tomorrow<\/a>, and there&#8217;s plenty more of this and countless other gastronomic delights ahead (as sampled at the Christmas Market at Munich airport yesterday, which always starts a little earlier than the rest!)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And if you&#8217;re still cold even after that, then I definitely recommend a Dampfnudel (a steaming hot slightly sweet fluffy dumpling swimming in custard) to go with it &#8211;
