a) It&#8217;s a great way to try something you wouldn&#8217;t usually choose, and b) Mr R is so indecisive he would sit and deliberate for hours if he could&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As we walked (in what was hopefully the right direction), \u00a0I joked that the only time I wouldn&#8217;t be so happy about this arrangement was if I was presented with an English dish I am not so fond of &#8211; \u00a0Liver and Onions (a meal we occasionally got served at home and which I hated with a passion &#8211; until we got a dog, turns out he didn&#8217;t hate it quite as much as me!)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.broeding.de\/en\/restaurant\/wer-wir-sind\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Broeding<\/a> is very much a special occasion (making up for rubbish previous birthday restaurant) kind of place, and is well known for its amazing selection of Austrian wines &#8211; something they embarked upon almost 25 years ago when the restaurant first opened. \u00a0 \u00a0I think that for every bottle offered here, Broeding&#8217;s staff actually knows the maker by name, and I love Broeding&#8217;s passion for the stuff&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And the food? \u00a0 \u00a0Although I had joked about the possibility of being presented with one of my lesser favourite English dishes, it was a pleasant surprise to discover that we happened to visit on an evening when the menu featured a definite English undercurrent, albeit a much more favourable one! \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0We began with a black pudding strudel (think wonton here!) on top of a delicate asian salad, which left both of us wishing it was much much bigger! \u00a0 \u00a0 There was nothing English about what was up next &#8211; Essence of Mushrooms with Mung Bean ravioli &#8211; the broth was delicious, and I am not sure I have ever had mung bean before &#8211; but it worked really well. \u00a0 \u00a0 Then on to\u00a0a succulent chunk of cod and sweet potato fries (fish and chips!! \u00a0Not a mushy pea in sight though sadly!)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By now the couple on the table next to us had obviously overheard us speaking. \u00a0 I guessed that they had also made the English connection with the food as their conversation was interspersed with words like &#8220;fish and chips&#8221; and &#8220;black pudding&#8221; together with furtive glances at us. \u00a0 \u00a0 As they were a course or so ahead, they leaned over and excitedly told us that next we would be pleased as next it was &#8220;English Roast Beef!&#8221;&#8230; who delivered the personal history of each different wine and absolutely anything at all you wanted to know about the food, right down to the name of the cow that made the alpine cheese that ended the meal \u00a0(Dolly &#8211;
