Kings College Cambridge – proving to many that it doesn’t always rain in the UK…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

As many readers will know, it has been “crystal ball time” in our house for at least the past year (if not slightly longer!) \u00a0And, \u00a0as many a work expat will tell you, that complete limbo land of not knowing what on earth you will be doing\/where on earth you will be living, can be a really stressful time for the whole family. \u00a0But then, when a decision is eventually made, things tend to start happening very very quickly (as happened when our time was up in Copenhagen), and so here we are. \u00a0We have six weeks to enjoy the rest of our time in Munich, overdose on real Christmas markets and the chance of a Bavarian white Christmas, before upping temporary roots and planting them back down again somewhere else…<\/p>\n

We have spent the last week in Cambridge, a rather beautiful part of the UK that looks set to become our home for the next chapter of our lives. \u00a0 Home! How funny does that sound?! \u00a0 I am sure it’s going to take a little bit of adjusting after seven years away, but it will be nice to reconnect with England, and introduce the youngest member of our family to his country properly, \u00a0before we are back at that “crystal ball” stage all over again…<\/p>\n

Sadly, the week was so hectic my camera didn’t get out much. I am sure I will drive you mad with Cambridge pictures soon enough!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Thankfully, after our week there spent searching for a house and looking at schools, I can say that we are all mostly happy with the decision, and (touch wood!) we have somewhere to live, and for the small people to learn something! \u00a0 \u00a0Mr R is more than happy to be working for a really good English Firm once again (no more calls to the US in the middle of the night – yippee!), and the small people are super excited at the chance to be closer to family and friends, have clubs they can join out of school without having to worry about speaking another language, and (rather strangely I think!) being able to wear school uniforms for once in their lives (I am sure that the novelty will wear off with that one sooner rather than later!)…<\/p>\n

Had to have at least one decent English Breakfast while we were back!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

As much as I will miss our lives in Munich, and the people that we are close to, \u00a0I personally can’t wait to be near to friends and family again, and will relish the chance to live somewhere that I feel that I belong to for however long we are there. \u00a0I totally took that part for granted before we left the UK.<\/p>\n

I will keep Bavarian Sojourn as it is for now. \u00a0That might sound odd, but it’s been a huge part of my life for the past five years, and I have always regretted leaving A Scandinavian Sojourn behind and starting from scratch again. \u00a0 Plus, we will still travel and explore as much as we do now if not more so, that’s never going to change! \u00a0Who knows, maybe a new blog will spring up somewhere down the line…<\/p>\n

Right now I hope you will follow our journey in the future, and please bear with us as we pack as much in as we can over the next few weeks! \u00a0As was the case when we left Copenhagen, I still have a lot to see, and an awful lot of places and people to say goodbye to. \u00a0 x<\/p>\n
