Rather shockingly (considering the amount of photographs I take), I have fewer pictures than expected of my Small People together in a photograph – on their own. \u00a0 This could be because the photographs I do have are quite often back views of them as disappear into the distance – like this for example, taken in my favourite country<\/a>…<\/p>\n

Or it could be because if they have been asked<\/em> to stand too close to one another, quite often attempted strangulation occurs… Or, if we are lucky, one might squeeze the other’s hand a little too tightly if they have been instructed to stand nicely and hold hands for a photograph – because it looks cute, and come on – how much longer can I get away with it?!…<\/p>\n

Therefore, I plan on taking more photographs of the two of them (don’t worry I won’t publish them all!), as there aren’t actually many pictures to illustrate that they really do (despite the odd bashing about) have the most incredible bond<\/a>…\u00a0\u00a0 I have wondered if it’s a Third Culture Child <\/a>thing, given the myriad of changes they have come to expect (and have had to contend with) so far in their short lives.\u00a0\u00a0 If this is the case, I think it’s great that they know that despite everything else being new or “foreign”, they can seek the other out, and depend on them for support in unfamiliar territory if we are not around – regardless of how much they claim to hate each other at times!<\/p>\n

Or perhaps it’s just a normal clan thing?\u00a0 I have my fingers crossed this is the case… \u00a0 And I have them really really crossed that this sibling bond runs deep and strong throughout their lives, as I suspect it just might.<\/p>\n
