I will blame my Sister in Law in the US for this particular addiction – she invited me to join Pinterest around 18 months ago, and from that moment on, I was pretty much hooked!
Pinterest is a great way to bookmark websites, pictures, and ideas that you love, and keep them all in the same place by “pinning” them onto personal boards. My boards are on lots of different subjects, not just on cooking (although I always find inspirational ideas here), and not just on art and photography (but there’s always someone’s work I love, and can aspire to own one day), and not just on ideas to keep Small People busy either (but trust me, there are a million and one ideas here to keep them occupied)… Plus if you don’t like the thought of the world and his wife viewing your stuff, there are now secret boards too where you can pin future confidential party ideas for example, or just the things you’re not sure you want anyone else knowing about, like this blogger’s Potential Husband Substitute board…
Perhaps the board I am most obsessed about however is my Travel Board, which I have named (albeit not that imaginatively) “Places I Love or Would Love to Visit”… It’s a big world out there, and if the tiny section of it I have written about and photographed is helpful to others then that’s great… So it’s where I pin pictures (and quite often blog posts) of the places I have particularly enjoyed visiting, then have the “favour returned” by collecting articles and pictures of those places that have been on my bucket list for years. It definitely helps me gauge a feel for a place, and more often than not helps gets the wheels in motion when planning a trip. Thanks to all the beautiful images on Pinterest, it has often proved invaluable at the art of persuading my family that some potential places really are a good idea too, which is always a bonus…
And one day, if and when we put our travels behind us, then I have this next board at the ready (yes it does contain a lot of Danish furniture – living just outside Copenhagen for a couple of years will do that to you!) – my Design Board – a place to pin all of the ideas I have for the big imaginary house that exists in my head, and where I one day envision us putting roots down… Well I can dream can’t I?
The Pin it Forward Campaign is made up of 300 UK bloggers, and tomorrow the baton is passed to Jen & Ben from Travelbllgr. They have covered some amazing countries on their travels, including South America, India and New Zealand, and I am happy to make their acquaintance as it means I can continue to feed my wanderlust from their Pinterest Travel Boards too…
If you would like to follow me, please feel free, I love finding new followers (although I warn you now, there’s no going back once you’re all joined up!). See you there?

I have GOT to get the hang of Pinterest! Don’t know why I have such a mental block about things like this! Wish I could chat to you about it (and Google+…)
Love your travel board, and the Danish furniture makes my heart sing :) x
Feel free to message me, more than happy to help you with both! :) x
Thanks Emma :) Think I have far too many questions! Wouldn’t want to take up lots of your time. Possibly the best thing is for me to spend a day on both, with no distractions – don’t seem to pick any of it up easily! Are there some good posts/articles you’d recommend?
Seriously, if you have any questions, just shout! I will dig out some articles and send them to you…
Thanks Emma x
no problem! (: x
so easy to become an addict, even on the first visit! well that’s how it happened for me.
Me too! :D Thank you!
It really is time for me to join Pinterest. Will you hold my hand?
Of course I will… Looks like you are a bit of an expert already! Love your intro! :D x
I got cracking as soon as I clicked off your site. It wasn’t too painful and now I’m going to enjoy choosing a few snaps from our previous jaunts. Thanks for the push…and the follow!
It’s quite straight forward isn’t it? You will be addicted before too long… Thanks Trish!
Love your travel board (and design board as well!). I had no idea that you lived outside Copenhagen (I too live Danish-designed furniture). Your Travel Board inspires me to travel more… or at least live vicariously through all your wonderful pins. Thanks again for joining us in the Pin It Forward UK campaign.
Thanks so much Tina, yes we lived there for two years. Now in Munich! Thanks for asking me to support your campaign! Emma (:
Oooh your travel board is giving me itchy feet….. One day…..
It gives me itchy feet too! Thanks Rebecca! :)
Ooo I love Pinterest – and now I’m off to create a potential replacement husband hotties list – starting with Christian Bale… Maybe I’ll make that board secret ey> ;)
Cat’s board made me laugh so much… Thanks Annie! :D
Ooh, we have the same taste in furniture, and I live many, many miles from Copenhagen ;) I so have itchy feet to travel, looking at all of those lovely images. Off to follow your boards now.
Gorgeous isn’t it? I have my eye on a couple of key pieces. We may not be able to eat for a year or so, but the sitting room will look fab! Thank you! :)
Oooh I love your travel board – I go through phases where I’m completely addicted to Pinterest.
Thank you… It is addictive isn’t it? :)
Ha! I have a board for potential second husbands too. I’m mainly using Pinterest to bookmark things to buy for my new house though.
That board really made me laugh… Would love to see yours! And I know your new house board will contain lots of lovely things… At least your house is real too! :D
