And with these pictures, here ends my Oktoberfest /Wiesn 2012 “series”…
I guess not many words are needed for the above…
It has all been over for nearly a week now. And it was great to finally experience it, and to witness the sheer enormity of the whole thing (yes those great big white things you can see in the third picture down are the tents themselves!). Everyone but everyone (apart from a couple of waitresses – and I am not quite sure what they had to be miserable about, the amount of money they make in those two weeks!) was in the best mood and the atmosphere was infectious…
Even if you don’t like beer, I would say it’s worth going for the people watching opportunities alone… And now the city has a chance to get over a collective of sore heads, and relax a little bit before Christmas Market season. It’s not that far off!

gorgeous photographs and what a memorable experience, you are so lucky to be able to be able to really experience all the various aspects.
Aw thank you! Yes, a memorable experience indeed. For me at least! I imagine some people might not be able to remember anything about it! :D
Love these photos! I’ve not been to Oktoberfest, but we have some German friends and we went out to their home town one summer, as there’s an annual fair. There was an awful lot of beer and wurst consumed…so much fun. The photos really remind me of that :-)
Thank you Gill! Whatever the occasion there’s always a lot of wurst and bier! :D
How fun–and great, colorful photos! I love the “floh-circus” one.
Thank you! I loved that little Flea circus. I did consider going in as I am so nosy, but then I thought if it was just a wind up and there weren’t any performing fleas, I wouldn’t know how to ask for my money back in Deutsch! :D
Well, you’ve certainly made me want to visit some year. You really captured the whole thing brilliantly. And the colours in the photos, my word!
Thank you so much Mary! :)
I had no idea there was so much colour and so much going on. Just thought it was beer and tents! Well worth a visit. Need to move half term a few weeks forward though.
Thank you… There’s always something interesting going on here by the looks of things, definitely more than beer and tents! :D
Fantastic pictures as ever! Where were you to take the 3rd picture down – in a hot air balloon? x
At the top of the BIG wheel! You wouldn’t have liked it! :D xxxx
It looks like Oktoberfest was a LOT of fun. I’m particulary liking the gingerbread hearts. xx
It was a huge amount of fun! Thank you! :) xx
I love the colours! I most definitely would come home with one of those ginormous cookies and a Bavarian hat you know the gnome like one? I adore those :)
I’m going to be so jealous when I see your Christmas market posts ;)
Lots of people wearing the gnome hats too! :) xx
Wow, looks amazing! Your photos capture the spirit and fun of it all, brilliantly!
Thanks so much Suzanne! :)
Oktoberfest sounds like so much fun. I’ve loved reading about it and now seeing these amazing pictures as well. I really would like to experience it, I’ll have to add it to my bucket list. Came across from Britmums. I have posted from my Freda and Me blog this week.
Thanks very much Sarah. Will pop over! Emma :)
Loved enjoying Oktoberfest through your blog and I’m looking forward to Christmas! Thank you. x
Thank you! Sorry it’s all a bit late really! :) xx
