A ski trip with a four month old baby might not seem like the most relaxing break in the world, and I will be the first to admit that it’s probably not – but I promise you it’s worth it…
OK, so (unlike the rest of my tribe) the baby and I might not have got that much done in the way of skiing this past week, but with a decent sling, a sturdy pair of snow boots and ignoring the fact that I was mostly half strangulated with a camera strap (whilst the baby chewed the other end of it!) on our scenery appreciation missions, we have well and truly made the most of being in the mountains. Kitzbuhel is gorgeous…
And look at the view from the top….
Not that somebody else was that impressed on our first visit up there! I will always remember baby’s first mountain, even if he doesn’t!
More to follow when I am back next week…
Aww I really loved this post! Such a gorgeous end pic of baby! Stunning views. I’ve actually never been anywhere like this, or been skiing, but I’d love to experience seeing this first hand x
The views are just incredible. Thanks so much Carolynne! (:
What an amazing first holiday – beautiful photos and I can’t wait to hear all about it x
Thank you Cass! (: x
For the first time ever I can appreciate a good snowy mountain photo and consider the skiing opportunities! I may be turning into a ski bum after all ;-)
You need to come here before we leave so you can experience my style of skiing! :D x
Wow, you are very brave – not sure I would want to take a small baby up a mountain – the pictures are so worth it though
Thanks Kara! It wasn’t too much of a hardship! :D
Oh wow I bet he slept like a log with all that beautiful fresh mountain air!
I hope he was awake at least a little bit to enjoy the views!
He did have a bit of a look around, not sure anything made much sense to him though, and yes he definitely slept like a log! Thanks Liz :)
What an impressive first holiday, whilst he might not remember it your beautiful photos will be something to look back on in years to come
Thanks so much Sarah! :)
Gorgeous photos Emma, such stunning views. My sister took her 4 month old on a ski trip after Christmas – don’t think she had any plans to ski, which was just as well, seeing as there was no snow! x
Oh no, how sad they didn’t get any snow. Austria’s the place to go at the moment – stacks of the stuff! Thanks T xx
Beautiful photographs and lots of happy memories for you. x
Ta Ma xxx
Can almost smell that clean fresh air. x
So clean and fresh. Thanks Elinor! :) x
Beautiful views! He looks very cosy in there. x
He loves it! Thanks Louise! :)x
You are very brave, Emma, well done for braving the mountains with such a small babe, such gorgeous pictures as well!xx
Thank you Oana! xx
Such stunning photos and a great memory. For you as you say, not the baby! One lucky baby :) xx
Thank you! :)
All that mountain air would have been phenomenally good for baby, even if she won’t remember it! She’ll have the pictures to look back on, at least.
Thanks Nell! (:
Such a gorgeous view!
Thanks Erica, it was definitely worth it! (:
I adore that last image with babe in the Sling. You are so much braver than me!
Thanks so much Jen! (: x
We went to Kitzbuhel many years ago for a two week holiday in September. We had a wonderful time riding up and down the cable cars. We couldn’t believe how warm it was then and couldn’t imagine it covered in snow.
A Gorgeous place isn’t it? Thanks Ness! (:
Lol, he does look very content though and nice to collect all these family memories. Mich x
Thank you Mich x
Oh how awesome Emma, first mountain at 4 months. That’s pretty special. Looks like the views were incredible too :)
Thanks so much Charly x
Aww sleeping through your first trip up the mountain :)
I will remind him one day! :D Thanks Abi! :)
LOL, you did take a tiny baby up that mountain!
I did indeed! :) x
Good for you! And fabulous photos to show for it :-D xxx
Thanks Mary, hope all is well? xxx
