My first “Pictures From a Mornings Walk” of 2013….
Taken on a grey day, when I had time to kill before an appointment in an area of Munich that I haven’t explored much (included in this was enough time for a pit stop at a Cafe that serves an English Style Breakfast – albeit slightly “Bavarian-ised” – who could refuse? It was good, and so big I couldn’t eat for the rest of the day!). I only noticed the unintentional yellow theme throughout the pictures later!
This next picture (taken at Candidplatz) is probably my favourite of the day – I love this particular U-Bahn Station, it is so different. Munich only started building its underground system in the Sixties, hurrying it along for the Olympic Games in 1972 – which means a lot of the stations reflect these eras in their design…
And on the way home, I found an icon from a decade or so later… The Small People were very impressed!

I was certain the yellow theme was intentional! :o)
The second pic is my favourite, love that wall. xx

Thank you… It honestly wasn’t – pure coincidence! :D xx

bavaria says
Thank yoU Bibsey…. Those eggs were good! :)
Rollercoaster Mum says
Gorgeous photos as always – love the unintentional yellow theme!
bavaria says
Thanks Rebecca! So strange how certain times of the year different colours seem more prolific! At the moment, it would be back to white again! :D

loving the underground images – it looks so clean and pristine.
bavaria says
Clean and pristine, and usually running on time (usually)… :D

Love the touch of yellows, Emma! I’ve been seeking them out myself lately; I might have had enough of winter. Saw my first bunch of daffodils of the year in the supermarket yesterday – I’m hoping spring will come soon, like in your photographs :)
bavaria says
Thanks Pia… Funny how that worked out… I saw crocus bulbs coming up in the garden (before it got covered with snow again!!), Spring must be on its way!! :D
Trish says
Cracking photos, Emma.
My son looks like Wally when he goes to school – he’s tall, thin, wears a bobble hat and glasses. Should I buy him a stripey top for his birthday to complete the look? ;-)
bavaria says
Hahahaha Trish – definitely. And a map, a back pack and a pen! :) Thank you too by the way (:
A Patchwork Life says
Love the rainbow station! Great collection of cheery yellow photos too – thinking about spring maybe? :)
bavaria says
Thank you…. I am probably wishing for spring, it’s all white again here now! :D
Kelloggsville says
Bavarianised? How, add extra pig meat?! They are fantastic photos. I wonder if you were seeking yellow without realising. Looking for spring?
bavaria says
Lots of added spuds (out of frame) and bratwurst instead of an English banger… so you were nearly right! :D
h0pefulmummy says
i love the first photo of the u-bahn – i think it’s the yellow honeycomb tiles!
bavaria says
Thanks Sheonad! There are some seriously cool u-bahn stations here because of when they were built! Makes ours look very conservative (as much as I love it!) :) xx
Emma @sciencesparks says
