Stunning – love the way the zigzaging road threads through the picture.
Thanks Erica! Not a technically brilliant pic (it was taken from the car!), but it’s just so beautiful in that part of Bavaria :)
Oh that’s so lovely – it makes me want to run along in the mountains singing, drinking gin in a tin and patting the woodland animals :D
Let me know when you plan on doing that, and I will come and join you :)
I want to burst into song! The hills are alive…
I think I might have been singing it in my head too :)
A beautiful vista! Love the misty sky – Bavaria is indeed stunning :)
Thank you Louise. Yes, it really is :)
The Bavarian Yellow Brick Road? Beautiful!
It might just be Sarah! Thank you :)
What an amazing view!
Thank you! SO many views like this in that area, it was hard to choose! :)
Stunning, lucky you, not many mountains here!
Thank you! I have gone from a pancake flat land to one with oodles of mountains :)
Very green, and probably a good place to live with all this rain. No flooding and lots of slippery grass to slide around on!
You know, I think you’re right :)
That’s such a stunning photo – can’t believe you took it from the car !
Thank you! Yes, you will be pleased to hear I wasn’t driving at the time :)
How lush and green it is there. Beautiful :)
Thanks Steph! :)
What a gorgeous picture, I’d love to visit Bavaria. My Husband has a German grandmother (who lives in England) and we’re always talking about taking our daughter over there, to all the places he went as a boy. Personally, I just want to see Neuschwanstein!
Thank you Jayne. You really should, I am sure you would love it! Haven’t been to Neuschwanstein yet, but it’s on the list :)
Oh! This is so, so, so, gorgeous! I love Berchtesgaden – spent many happy times there in summer and in winter (my sister and I learned to ski and that neck of the woods.) Sigh.
Thanks Ms Caroline, so pleased it’s bringing back happy memories for you (hopefully!). Although if they are anything like my skiing lessons, they might be not so happy memories. More like bruised, cold and miserable memories :D xx
Wow, that is absoloutely beautiful! I want to go there! Where is it?
Thank you! It’s in Berchetesgaten, around an hour and a half from Munich :)
Gorgeous landscape shot!
Thank you HC :)
Picture postcard perfect! Truly breath-taking :0)
Thanks MsXpat (:
Beautiful shot :)
Thanks Claire :)
Looks gorgeous! Wish I could afford a holiday there…
Thanks Becky. You should have a look, when it’s not skiing season, you can get some fabulous deals :)
stunning
Thanks very much (:
Beautiful! Love the contrast between the green and the blue.
Thank you :)
Oooh I love a good view! What a stunning area you live in! Xxx
Thanks Louise! There are parts that are pretty beautiful. Trying to see as much as we can while we are here :)
Yodel-ayee-dee! If you see Heidi please give her my love and tell her she was my favourite book when I was a child. Thanks.
Thanks Rachel… Will do :D
Simply stunning and I agree with midlife simple mum, if you see Heidi please say hello : )
Thanks Natalie! I will! And to Peter :)
Great shot! Love the green/mountains/clouds! Ah, isn’t living in Bavaria grand? We <3 it!
Thank you! Yes, it’s pretty good… most of the time ;) Loved your “What I will miss” post! I couldn’t agree more about the speed of having to pack your bags in the supermarket :)
A real sound of music scene!
Thanks Fiona! That’s just up the road from here! I am planning on doing the tour at some point :D
makes me want to eat chocolate in a purple wrapper with a cow picture.
I know the brand you mean. I try to ignore it in the shops though, because it’s just TOO nice… :)
Beautiful Shot!
Thanks Kelly :)
Beautiful – like something out of a travel brochure!
Thank you… It’s very unspoilt there :)
Oh my goodness i feel so wholesome looking at that picture how beautiful
Thanks Helen :)
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous pic! Love the greens :)
Thank you… It is so green, probably thanks to all the rain we have had as well :)
What a beautiful photo!
Thank you (:
Beautiful, that would make a stunning postcard!
Thanks Emma… It’s lacking some alpine cows though :)
