We went to the Fruehlingsfest (Oktoberfest’s little sister) in Munich yesterday. Small Girl and I went super early to explore the massive flea market they have on the first Saturday. The day started out cloudy and cold, but ever the danger mouse she wanted to go on as many fairground rides as she could. You can see her grinning away in this picture if you look closely enough… I wish I still had the capability of going on such rides without feeling ill, I can’t even go on a normal swing nowadays!
I love the juxtaposition of the two rides together–great photo!
Thanks Brooke! Do you remember the bitter cold year we went when it poured with rain?? :D
Love this photo, a great capture. My son would love it here x
Thanks very much Jane! :)
Oh, I had this on my “to-do” list. Just wanted to say, we moved to the Munich area temporarily (3 months from the US) yesterday. I’ve been reading your blog to remind myself “we can do this.” I’ve bookmarked a lot of places you have mentioned….so, thanks!
Thanks so much, and welcome!! What a fantastic time of year to arrive in Munich for three months! Do give me a shout if I can help with anything! Emma :)
I used to be able to ride anything and everything, but somehow that all changed after I had kids. Maybe because I was so ill for so long – no idea. In any case, all I can say now is that I still have nightmares about the teacup ride at Disney – I was terrified I’d be sick all over #2. It looks like wonderful fun, but I would have to pass….
Oh poor you… that sounds horrific! I don’t find it bad on rollercoasters, just round and round and forwards and backwards rides… :D
Tricks my eye! Amazing capture =) #mysundayphoto
Thanks Merlinda! :)
I’m with you…can’t think of anything worse than going on one of those swings! Great photo with both wheels in the frame – sort of looks like they’re getting tangled up!!
Thank you! What happens to our brains that’s what I want to know, I could go on anything once upon a time! :D
Great capture from standing beneath there
Thanks Fiona! I was more than happy stuck to the ground! :D
Oh I am so with you on that one, I can’t bear those sort of rides, I am so glad that my lot are old enough to go on by themselves. Sounds like a great day out though and that is a great photo
Thanks very much Nikki! :)
What a great photo! It looks like a lot of fun is being had x
Thanks Kim, she was making the most of it before her brother finished football and turned up! :D
This looks awesome, it sounds like a great event
Thank you for linking up
Thank you! (:
Brilliant shot!xx
Thank you J! (: xx
I love how you framed the shot, it just screams fun! My eyes travel to so many small bits and pieces of this photo. Little vignettes of color here and there. Great capture.
Thanks so much Nikki! :)
Sorry forgot to say I’m visiting from #MySundayPhoto xx
What a great angle! Looks like lots of fun xx
Thanks Alex! :)
I couldn’t go on something like this! Great shot, love how it almost looks as if the swings are going to hit the Ferris wheel!
It does doesn’t it? Just the angle thankfully! Thank you! :)
Loving the all the different colours and movements in this shot. :) xx
Thank you! Glad I had a guinea pig to take a picture of! :D xx
I could never enjoy any rides … my kids make up for it, though. Apart from the time they closed down Mr Monkey’s Banana Boat in Thorpe Park … temporarily, I hasten to add. After a quick hose-down it was up and running again, this time without us.
That sounds like an “interesting” and very unforgettable experience!! :D
Beautiful photo, I love fairgrounds, but just like you, I’m not brave enough to go on rides like that ;)
Thanks A. I would but they just make me feel sick nowadays! :D
I love this angle it looks so vintage, shame the sun wasn’t shining for you that day x
Thankfully it was kind to us and came out later! Thanks Sarah! :)
i love this shot. lots of colour and action going on.
Thanks Sherry! :)
What a great photo, looks like you had a fun time x
Thanks Cathy! It was a nice day out! Could have been a little warmer maybe! :D x
