As one of my tasks has been going through thousands of photo archives this week, here’s one of my favourites I had completely forgotten about. An unusual picture from me, as you rarely get to see The Small People in photos in any sort of detail on my site (out of fear that one day they will never forgive me) but here they a year or so ago with Granny on a Gondola in Venice. Happy Venetian memories…

Somewhere I would love to go! Gorgeous photo, love the perspective. It really does look so bright and beautiful x
Emma says
It’s one of the few places I have been that is actually how you imagine it to be in your minds eye! Thanks Sara! :) x

I’m really bummed that we will not have a chance to visit Venice during our 3 months in Munich. I had definitely hoped for it- but just time, cost (trips adding up quickly) and having the ability to find a hotel on such short notice finally had me crying uncle.
It looks beautiful! (I agree with you on not showing faces, by the way. Kids deserve privacy, too!)
Emma says
Thanks so much! See I told you you would find stacks to do! Hope all is well, and you are enjoying your time here! :)
Lisa from Lisa's Life says
Happy memories :)
Emma says
Very. Thanks Lisa! :)
Zena's Suitcase says
Venice is definitely on my list of places to visit. This looks like a happy moment
Emma says
It’s kind of exactly how you expect it to be, but about 1000 times better! :D Thank you Zena! :)

Another place for me to visit! We had planned to pop down from Zürich but horrendous morning sickness put paid to our trip. I’m still not entirely comfortable with posting pictures of my two. I do now and again but am always drawn to the photos that don’t really capture them. The good thing is that they mostly wear hats so are often partially obscured anyway.
Emma says
It would be a shame to visit Venice with morning sickness, if you ignore the purely tourist restaurants and go where the locals do, there’s some fantastic Cicchetti to be had! :D And re. the pictures, it’s hard to know what to do isn’t it? I don’t feel comfortable with having a lot of pictures on my blog of my children, but I know a lot of people don’t have an issue with theirs…
Diana @ Life in German. says
I understand some people never posting pics of their kids, but I like having them to look back to.
Emma says
Thanks Diana, it’s hard isn’t it? I think my kids are visible in a grand total of around 4 posts in both of my blogs. It’s just something I didn’t want them holding against me when they are older. Plus they never keep still – so mostly back views it is! :D

A lovely perspective! Looks like a fun trip too =) #mysundayphoto

Lovely picture and well done for tackling the photo sorting! So badly need to do the same, keep putting it off.
Emma says
It’s just one of those never ending tasks! Thank you T! :) x

Just seeing that picture brings it all back, a magical day despite the mosquito bites! I can feel the warmth of the sun and hear the gondolier singing – the power of a photograph! x
Emma says
It was even worth the mosquito bites! :D xx
OneDad3Girls says
I bet that was so amazing, I really want to visit soon
Thank you for linking up

Thank you Darren!
Phoebe @ Lou Messugo says
Lovely. We went on a gondola for my son’s 9th birthday treat, it was all he wanted when we were in Venice a month before his birthday. Can’t believe that was nearly 7 years ago now!
Emma says
Thank you Phoebe! Time flies doesn’t it? I always tell people to go on a gondola in Venice. Yes, it’s touristy, but when you turn down some of the quiet water ways and see the real Venice, it’s really really worth the money! :)
Mel says
What a nice, bright shot! I went to Venice when I was a student, and I really loved this quirky place with all its history, amazing food and coffee.
Emma says
We have great coffee here because we are just a couple of hours from Italy. I have become such a coffee snob. No American coffee chains for me anymore! :D
