Follow the wood anemone carpeted path through Freising Forest, and before too long you should find the tiny Forest church of St Clemens.
I am not a religious person in any way shape or form, but there is something really special about this place – probably that it looks plucked straight from the pages of a fairytale book…
The surrounding part of the forest is dedicated to an arboretum with trees from every corner of the world. Weldwalt is a beautiful place to spend the day, and if your map reading skills are any good, you can find some tranquility at Saint Clemens too.
Things are a little hectic to say the least this end at the moment. Normal service will resume very shortly!

Beautiful photos Emma, as always. I am soooo lookking forward to spring this year, it seems to have been eternally cold and I’m fed up of tights, trousers and jumpers! Bring it on, I say!
Thank you Mari. I am looking forward to that too! Snow again here this morning!! :D
The photos are all very fairy tale like! #mysundayphoto
Thanks Merlinda! (:
That is so pretty. You don’t need to be hugely religious in any way to appreciate how beautiful churches can be.
That’s very true! Thanks Louisa! (:
Whilst I’m not hugely religious, there is something about a church that fills me with goosebumps. There’s something about a small, tucked away church. This one is gorgeous, I wonder what it is like inside?
I had a look through the window, it’s beautiful inside, with painted walls if I remember correctly. Sadly the pictures I took didn’t do it justice! :) Thank you…
Wow that does look right out of a fairytale. Love the idea of getting to it through the forest.
Thanks Kriss, with buildings like this you can understand how they came up with so many fairytales in this area!
what a gorgeous church in amazing surroundings, you’re right, it does look like it’s straight out of a fairy tale.
Thank you Anne! :)
Lovely photos, you are right there is something fairytale like about this area. xx
