A watchful gaze… They may look similar, but I have been reliably informed that this is a Berners Sennenhund, and not a Saint Bernard. Both equally common in these parts as you might expect, and very similar if you are a bit of a dog breed dunce like me…

Oh my goodness, that face! Confusion is understandable… BV and I have had a similar conversation many times because I would love to have a Bernese Mountain dog at some point, and every time he says, “Beethoven? Really?” And then I have to remind him, “No honey, that’s a St. Bernard.” Still not as ridiculous as his thinking that an Australian Shepherd was a cross between a German Shepherd and a Dingo, though. :)

I love these dogs so much! My friend used to have one of those, but I think she has Saint Bernard though. What are the differences? I can’t make out. They look so the same! I love the way their eyebrows twitches when questioning something. What magnificent door and porch you have there! Very grand! Love it. #MySundayPhoto
