There are many things you can take away with you from a trip – memories, souvenirs, and in my case countless countless pictures. The following set captured my imagination thanks to the colours in them…
Blue: Taken at one of my favourite places in Denmark – Louisiana, which regular readers will undoubtedly be sick of me mentioning. We used to spend hours here because of fantastic exhibitions like this one by Yayoi Kusama, and the big slide out the back. The setting of the gallery itself also has to make it one of the most beautiful in the world. I miss this place.
White: Taken at the very top of the Zugspitze, the tallest Mountain in Germany. This was my Mother’s Day treat!! Nothing for miles and miles but height and white… I think my legs stayed wobbly for a whole week after this experience!
Yellow: Another picture from our time in Denmark, this time Copenhagen. This picture incorporates two of its most iconic things, bikes and yellow buildings. They are both everywhere there. This particular shade of yellow will always remind me of Denmark, and the time we spent there…
Red: The Brightly coloured Schäfflertanz we were lucky enough to see in Munich back in January. The dance originated during plague times when the Coopers wanted to illustrate and celebrate that it was safe enough to live normally again. This tradition still takes place today, but only once every seven years.
Green: A picture from my favourite country in the whole world, which is of course famous for being this very colour! Taken on a recent visit back home at the top of West Kennet Long Barrow, overlooking Avebury and Silbury Hill, I love this very English scene with the ancient Oak tree, and my two Small People having a race to see who could get to it first.
Nice to see so many different sides to colour in Bavaria.
Thanks so much Michel. I have loved seeing everyone’s entries, lots of fantastic photographs! :)
They are fabulous photos, I love them all….but I really LOVE the first one and the green in the last one. You must have a fantastic camera, as well as your magic touch of course!
xx Jazzy
Thanks so much Jazzy. These were taken with my bridge camera, which I love :) It’s a couple of years old now but it does the job. I got a new “baby” recently, but we are still getting to know each other! :)
Amazing photos – I love the ‘blue’ one especially but they’re all great, so vibrant.
Thanks very much Gill! :)
Wow wow wow! What more can I say – I love the blue one. I ‘d love to take part in this too but with photos like yours I don’t stand a chance – bit late too – only 23 hours to go!
Thanks for the lovely comment Rebecca, I am sure you have some lovely pics too, hope you managed to submit something in time? :)
Thanks so much for the tag!
I’m off on my holidays tomorrow (only 5 days in Norfolk) but I’d like to take some photos there to follow the theme. Doubt I’ll get shots as gorgeous as yours though ;-)
Thank you! Have a fabulous time. Can’t wait to see your pics! :)
Well, you definitely captured the colours! Here’s hoping you win the competition. And you’ve stirred a hitherto unknown desire in me to visit Denmark. (May just have to make do with some browsing of your archives for the time being. :) )
Thank you very much Mary! If you do go, then let me know, I can give you a BIG long list of places to visit :)
Oh my goodness, all your photos are amazing! Just stunning. Thank you so much for the tag – sadly don’t think I’ll make the deadline because we’re packing up and travelling home tomorrow (29th)
Best of luck xx
Thank you so much! No problem! I had thought you might be busy! Hope you are all having fun! :) xx
I’ve just been tagged in this one too but don’t think I’ll manage to do it in time. So will sit back and admire your photos instead. Favourite is yellow, such a clever shot.
Thank you very much! I will be popping over to read all about Sweden very shortly! :)
Great collection – I hope you win!
Why thank you! £2000 for travelling would be nice! :)
The ‘blue’ photo has all the magic that I love in an image but all are beautiful. I wish I had your eye and talent for photography.
Thank you so much! Tis very kind of you! :)
Wow, all brilliant pictures darling – all worthy winners – fingers crossed and I am proud of you – a chip off the old block! Mx
Thanks Mum :) Now if you could just hurry up and come over, I need a tutorial with the new camera! :) xxx
That last one says everything about an English summer in one shot.
Thank you. This place is just so special. The Oak tree actually has a natural hole at the base of the trunk from one side to the other. I had visions of them getting stuck in there, but my two loved scuttling through it! :)
Am in awe of your beautiful beautiful photos. Not sure I will get my act together and certainly sure I don’t have photos anywhere near as lovely. Thank you for the tag. X
Completely understand! PS. You don’t give yourself enough credit for your photography skills Mrs! :)
I LOVE these photos!! You’ve got such an amazing eye for the perfect shot, and the colours are well chosen for the purposes of this blog as well. Good luck!! x
Thanks so much Michelle! :) xx
I just love the ‘yellow’ one – not at all what I think of when I think ‘Denmark’ – more South of France or Italy!
Thanks Caroline, it’s just that particular shade, which is probably more ochre than yellow, but they seemed to have lots of this paint to use up! :D
