[…] sun was shining, so we walked the length of Leopoldstrasse and Ludwigstrasse to Odeonsplatz, past arches, lions (and on this occasions polar bears) and into another kind of Royal Palace for lunch – […]
Beautifully imposing :)
Thanks Lisa! :)
Beautiful piece of architecture, the inside of the arch almost looks as if it’s painted yellow doesn’t it.
Thank you! It does, the sun was gorgeous that day! :)
A nice arch as we lads say,
……..possibly in need of a sponge.

I just started reading the ‘Germany: Memories of a Nation’ book, which starts out with a picture of this as a symbol for German history as well as of German attitudes to their history – great book, but you picture is quite striking, both in terms of the angle and that cold winter light!
Thanks Ginger! Will keep an eye out for that book… :)

I didn’t know Munich had a Triumphal Arch. It seems many cities do and Paris isn’t so unique!
Thanks Phoebe. It reminded me of Paris when I walked past it yesterday…
