A selection of pictures taken late last night at Oktoberfest, to give you a little taste of what it’s like.
I did a very similar post last year, but the pictures were far blurrier (and I couldn’t even blame the camera – I wanted you to imagine what it was like through the eyes of someone who had spent several hours there! That was my excuse at the time anyway!)! Hopefully these pictures make up for those!
No visit to the champagne tent on the way home for us this year sadly, as we couldn’t find it (yes, I am sure it was real before anyone asks!), and anyway Mr R was driving – so obviously no indulging for him, which was probably just as well given his experience last weekend!
Our last visit to Oktoberfest 2014, it all ends on Sunday…

It looks splendid – fun, gaudy, a bit tacky – I think I would love it! Some friends of mine went this year and I was hoping you might spot them when I tagged you in a FB comment -how daft was that considering how many bars and how many people there must be!
Emma says
Thanks so much Trish! I didn’t see the tag, could have given them a guided tour otherwise, hope they had fun! See you next year?!? xx

Fantastic photos! One day, I’ll get there. One day!
Emma says
You must! :) xx

fabulous, colourful night time shots – really capture the mood! Love to know how you take such vibrant, clear pics at night – mine are always so disappointing! x
Emma says
Thanks so much! The lights just seem extra bright here, and my camera does all the hard work! :) xx

Having just read your last post and looking at the pictures of this one, Oktoberfest looks like tonnes of fun – it’s one my bucket list for when Little A has flown the coup and I need a damn good beer for the empty nest syndrome. You and yours have so much fun! X
Emma says
Thank you! As I think it will be highly unlikely we will still be here when that happens, I can always travel with you if you like! :D xx

Wonderful photos, especially the first one. I have heard wonderful things about Oktoberfest, I would love to go one year.
Emma says
It really is worth a visit at least once! Thanks Nikki! :)

Oktoberfest remains on my list of things I’d love to do… except I’ve become such a cheap date with all this pregnancy/motherhood business that I really can’t imagine I’d last longer than about half a Maß!! Not such good value ;)
Emma says
You can get non-alcoholic drinks too, plus wine if you find that more palatable! You should come down next year! :)
Ting at My Travel Monkey says
Wow, what amazing photos – you definitely capture the atmosphere. I wish I was there! Supping lots of beer – but at €10 a pint, it might only have to be the one :)
Emma says
Thanks so much Ting! :)

Wow, Emma, the colours and lights are just so sharp and brilliant. How do you do it?! Disappointing about the champagne tent though :-(
Emma says
Thank you Mary! Luck, definitely luck! :) x
