Apparently Munich is famous for river surfing, and thousands brave the icy cold waters each year when the conditions are right….

‘conditions are right’ in my language is air temperature about 40C and the water like bath water – then and only then would I consider it!
Me too. And then I would want the river checked for trolleys, tin cans and dead bodies first… :)

It was great to watch, could have stood there for hours! Could have had something to do with all those fit men in wetsuits though ;)

So nice to meet you, I can’t remember now who I came through….those surfing photos are incredible – did you take them yourself – it must be freezing. I come from a surf beach in NZ and I’m too pathetic to even go out in summer!
And you too Jody! Thanks so much for your lovely comment! Yes, I did take them… I did take a lot more, but I had a load of branches and trees in the way too so not many of them were that great1 I am like you, if I were to even attempt it, I would only be a fairweather surfer! :)

I’m not good with water so I shall just admire the bravery of the good people of Munich. Unusual for river water to be choppy like that in a city – is there some geological reason for it?
Crazy aren’t they? I am not sure, it could be something to do with the melting waters in the alps possibly? But then I could have just completely made that up… :) xx
